Henry’s Fences

Henry's fences are works of art, although he himself would rather see his fencing as the art of thrift. Using excess lumber from the island's sparse woodlands, driftwood and even the occasional water pipe, Henry marks the borders of his farmland to keep his sheep from straying. The sun, the rain, the wind and the changing seasons take their toll and whenever a fence pole starts to crumble, he will find a suitable piece of wood to replace it. His fences become part of the island's landscape.
